A Holiday Gift Guide
What a difference a year can make. Last November around this time, my daughter turned two years old. Like most of us now, I was deep on the search to find the perfect gifts to celebrate her birthday and third Christmas. I was trying to find intentional gifts for her. Things that were made for playing and learning. Toys that had meaning. She’d been starting to sing her ABC’s so I knew flash cards would be on the list, but once I started really looking, I was disappointed in what I found. That’s when the first inklings of the ABC Affirmations began.
A whole year later and that little idea has grown into something much bigger than I could have ever imagined. Over 3,000 ABC Affirmations have gone out to our magical Black girls and joyful Black boys across the world. We’ve been able to partner with some really incredible Black-owned businesses. And now we’re heading into our own holiday season, where we are the gift I found myself searching for.
And the best part is that we’re not alone! Over the past year, I’ve found so many other amazing people creating learning products for our babies and children. It was only right we shared some of our favorites in a holiday gift guide. So here it is! Gorgeous gifts for the babies by Black-owned businesses.
