✨ So is the Black Girl Magic deck JUST for girls? I think that’s up to you. I designed these so little Black girls could see themselves within the illustrations and affirmations. Representation IS an affirmation so each card features an illustration of a beautiful Black girl and a gender neutral affirmation (except for maybe Q 👸🏾 if you know, you know). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

One comment I keep hearing people say about our ABC Affirmations is: "I kinda want to use these myself..." I'm just here to say, SAME sis 💛 I know I made them for my daughter, but I can't tell you how many times I find myself repeating them in moments where I need the reminder and affirmation myself. Just the other day when I was feeling a little "less than", I had to pause and repeat: E is for Enough. I am Enough. Exactly as I am. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Since starting our homeschool journey, one thing that's become super clear to me, is that we're all doing this thing together. It's not us teaching. We're unlearning and relearning ourselves, right alongside them. And while that can definitely be a wild ride, it's also one of the best parts. They see us thinking, exploring, examining. Challenging ideas and beliefs. Creating, changing, and growing--which encourages and empowers them to do the same. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It's the fact that she loves them for me 💕. When I created these ABC Affirmations, I was speaking to her. But seeing how excited she is to use them? When she sees the box and asks for them. Or hearing her little voice identify the letters. Watching her point at the little Black girls saying "wow! look!". We really made something special...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
